Dr Prabhakaran is a well experienced, theoretical cum applied research-statistician. He received his M. Sc.degree in Statistics, from Kerala University, in 1970. In 1971, he was, awarded the Professional Statistician’s Certificate (equivalent to M.Sc. Agric. Statistics) Statistics with a Gold medal. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in AgriculturalStatistics from IARI in 1984. He has authored several publications on various Statistical topics, which inter alia include two important PG-level textbooks on population genetics and GE interactions. Before his retirement from service, he had worked as a full-fledged faculty member and guided a dozen Ph.D. and M.Sc. students.
